’37 Chevy Woody w/ Tear Drop Trailer

’37 Chevy Woody w/ Tear Drop Trailer

This was a AMT ’37 Chevy Cabriolet kit. I built this after seeing a photo of  one in the Scale Auto ’93 contest book. I started by opening the back for the rumble seat, took the seats from a AMT ’36 Ford for it. Instead of using the Stovebolt engine that came with the kit I used the Thriftmaster 6cyl that came in the ’50 Chevy 3100 pick-up. I put duel Strombergs  carbs and fully wired the motor. The wood grain on it is contact paper, I tried using real thin sheets of wood, but I just could seem to make it work out right, the contact paper looks pretty good, after I laid it in place, I used clear lacquer over the paper to give it the texture of real wood. The trailer I made from scratch, using sheets of plastic, and put the contact paper over  it, the fenders I molded from the rear of the ’37 Chevys. The license plates were me on my computer, they say: "WZATREE" & "TREEHSE".
