’57 Chevy

’57 Chevy

This is another AMT kit. I bought it when I first got back in to modeling, and painted it with  Plasti-Kote brown metallic lacquer paint from a can, and I hated the way it looked, so I put it back in the box, and there it sat for over 3 years, then one day I was going through my kits and came across it, pulled it out and decided to work on it. Well I sat and looked at it trying to figure out what to do with it, I still hated to color, and I didn’t feel like stripping it or painting over it, so I decided to flame it. And flame it I did, for the first time flaming with a air brush it didn’t turn out that bad. After the flames dried I laid the foil on the trim, and shot it with a coat of clear paint, and the buffed it out, it looked pretty good.
Now the trick was to come
up with a color for the interior, canary yellow, yeah that’s the ticket. I dropped a fully wired 409 in it, detailed the chassis and took the tires & wheels from the Revell ’32 deuce, finished the bad boy and put it on the shelf.
