Woodworth Website: Referred by: Net Search From: Roswell Georgia (north Atlanta) Time: 1999-02-15 20:07:06 Comments: Nice site. I started collecting Die-Cast Trucks a few years ago. Then one day I stood to close to a Hot Wheels display and got sucked in by those 32 Duece Coupes, Fat Fenndered 40's, etc. Now I'm customizing them. I'm about your age so I really appreciate the types and style of cars you are building. Like you, I was surprised to notice a lack of young kids in the store around the HotWheels, but an awful lot of grown men who collect them. Well, thanks for the Eye Candy and the read. |

Kinnaird Website: Chippewa Creek Railroad Referred by: Just Surfed On In From: Baden Ont. Canada Time: 1999-02-15 05:16:41 Comments: It's great to see somebody a little older getting back into the hobby as well as myself. I am about to retire and although trains have been my business the last 15 years I am looking forward to getting back to doing model cars again. I started when I was about 10 years old and have done it off and on for the last 40 years, but now I want to get a little more serious and do some detailing and such. There is such a great amount of material out there that we never had. I have been collecting up kits for about the last 5 or 6 years so I have quite an inventory to draw from and will hopefully have the time now. It looks like you have a great page and will be visiting it often. Good talking to you. Bruce. |

I`m 30 and have been building for 20 yrs. I had to build a display case to house my 70 models. My wife thinks I`m a big kid too. I don`t care, I enjoy it alot. I just built a `60 Impala, now I`ll start a `64 Mustang conv. keep up the good work! |

My son is going to build a couple for me that I want. I just bought a '48 Chev Sedan Delivery model (made by Galaxie Models) and will build it as a replica of the real '47 sedan delivery I am building as a street rod. I would like to hear from anyone else who has similar interests. Terry DeliveryBoy@gbonline.com |

Website: Referred by: Just Surfed On In From: Time: 1999-02-12 05:43:25 Comments: Just one more thing. One continuous project, that I attempted three times, was to replicate the 1955 Chev "backyard racer" driven by James Taylor, and Dennis Wilson in "Two Lane Blacktop". (Also by Harrison Ford in "American Grafitti"). I had the doghouse removed, the the hood glued in place and filled to simulate the fibreglass front end. I had the scoop fabricated out of pop can aliminum, I cut out the trunk lid the way the movie car was. I removed the front vent window pillar, and decided how to fashion the front/back sliding door windows. I cut the rear seat etc out of the interior bucket, and started to fashion the rear floor, and gas filler (inside the trunk). I had even cut the "Nomad" rear wheel oppenings (ok, there weren't really nomad oppenings, but were cut out to accomodate the (real car's wheels). I don't really know why I trashed the project, except I couldn't find an appropriate front suspension (I had almost fashioned one out of sprue). I couldn't figure out how to complete the firewall/floorpan. I had difficulty filling in between the existing interior bucket (rear), and the trunk area, let alone the interior sides. I attempted to massacre the interrior of an original AMT '55 Nomad kit. Whick I now regret (which r3eminds me, I want the reissue of that kit). I even had the tires selected, and the rear mags widened, and scorred the wat the real car's looked. I knew how I was going to weather the primer paint job as well. But couldn't find the appropriate "American Racing Wheels" mag wheels. I think the most impressive bodywork I had done, was to remove the front fender chrome from the kit, using a dental tool i had gotten from the dentist. This tool, if used carefully, and enuff strokes, left a very realistic charactor line/reveal on the front fenders. I've lost that tool. I still have the movie on tape, and every detail in my head as to what i was doing. So when I find the time, I think I will try again. I love that car. And just as a side note, I am also trained in automotive/body repair. painting.foreman was my strong suit. :) Coop |

I usedto build model cars when i had the time (where did it all go? I'm only 25). I bought a few at the local shops, sales at department stores, and have way too many magazines. I haven't built one since the AMT 62 Bel Air came out, which seems to be some time now. I still bought the magazines for some time, and learned a lot as well, and was too, blown away at the little (really little) details some people perfect. Aftermarket items, foils (LOVE the foils) and the such are just breathtaking. I've still got about 50 kits waiting to be built, I might get back to it sometime. But until then, I've enjoyed your homepage. Coop |

I like especially the hot rods from the thirties and the cars and trucks from the 50's. My grandpa has an old Model T. He died in 1990 but I want his car. I've been trying to find some way to restore it though. That has been a bit of a problem. Anyways, I love your cars. |

Just browsing at the computer lab here at work/school (I teach 8th grade), and the '58 Impalas are INCREDIBLE. I also got back into models because I can't afford to restore the old '65 sitting out in the garage. I built one of those AMT '58s too, but I'm nowhere near your level. I have discovered foil, though, and it's been a big breakthrough in my work...Nice site. I'll bookmark it on my pc at home and see more there, because the kids are coming upstairs now.... |

One day, I dragged out the old kits I had sittiing in the closet and finally finished them. I enjoy the oldies, especially the rods. I just finished a 70 Monte Carlo which is built to the same specs as my own personal Monte Carlo sitting in the garage. Now, I am working on a 62 Impala Convert. I would like to get into more dramatic cutomizing, However , I am still learning some of the tricks ( mostly the hard ways ) By the way great sight!!!!! |

I got a couple of questions: 1) How do u get your paint so shiny and real looking, what kind of paint do you use and how long does it take you to a model when you get all the peices. 2) How do you putty a car with out it leaving marks, because i've tried a lot on my 66' chevy truck because i'am customizing it. To customize it i have lowered it and filled in the sides to make it look like the newer chevs. If you can answer these please email me thanks alot. |

Im gonna try to make a 1/8 scale of that one, I have 3 unbuilt 32 Roadsters and 2 Golden T's all 1/8 and I went to a Hobby Lobby and in the section for doll houses and furniture I found a good size wooden outhouse, with a little luck, patience, and determination I just might make something even you would be proud of ( no promises though ) I really enjoy your sight and visit quite. Is there an outlet where you are for 1/8 scale cars or would you know of anyone that might have any they would part with, built or unbuilt or slightly busted up for parts. Ive gabbed enough, I will be back to visit again and again and again Happy New Year!!!!! George Crossland ( stuck in the midwest ) gcrossland@enid.com |

I really like your page! You do very professional work on these models and it is obvious it is a passion with you. How did you create your message boards? They really look neat but it appears they are merely animated gifs. Do you have a program that creates them or did you do it by hand? Great looking, no matter how you did it! I'll check back in the future to see what new models you have added. Have you ever done a custom model where you take a stock model and change it to your liking? |

Website: Not mine...(It's a friend's) Referred by: Yahoo! From: Same place as most of you Time: 1998-12-11 20:36:30 Comments: Hi! I love your page! I have built hundreds of models! I build mostly cars pick-up, but love to model Tractor/trailer, and other heavy trucks. I love them! I can never build them stock... I always change something! My time available lately to build them is very limited! My girl friend likes to work on the "Junkers"! She has her own little way to it! She loves to step on them, and crush them! Stomping is her Hobby!!! I pick up crappie models here & there from people all over. Some times I'll build some, and I glue it all around, as tight as I can get it (around the windows/posts, interiors) and as strong as I can, and she tries to stand on them full weight with out breaking them! She CAN, most of the time - it's just another challenge for me, and it makes her feel good! The ones I do for her, are almost as good as the ones I do for show! But thats the way I am... picky! Check out this site! It has some of my models being crushed, by her. It may take a little wile to load, but the last ones are the best! Let us know what you think! Keep up the great work! Its nice to see the hobby growing! http://www.execorp.co.jp/lmjack/videointro/thecrushing/otherpics.html |

Time: 1998-11-28 04:22:37 Comments: i enjoyed viewing your models. they were excellent. i am 48 years old and have been modeling for about 40 years. the biggest problem that i run into is that the lack of hobby shops and also the selection when you do find a store that sells models. i have at times taken some of my old models strip them down and rebuild them just to have a decient model to build. keep up the good work. jd |
