Comments: Nice site. I started collecting Die-Cast Trucks a few years ago. Then one day I stood to close to a Hot Wheels display and got sucked in by those 32 Duece Coupes, Fat Fenndered 40's, etc. Now I'm customizing them. I'm about your age so I really appreciate the types and style of cars you are building. Like you, I was surprised to notice a lack of young kids in the store around the HotWheels, but an awful lot of grown men who collect them. Well, thanks for the Eye Candy and the read.

Comments: It's great to see somebody a little older getting back into the hobby as well as myself. I am about to retire and although trains have been my business the last 15 years I am looking forward to getting back to doing model cars again. I started when I was about 10 years old and have done it off and on for the last 40 years, but now I want to get a little more serious and do some detailing and such. There is such a great amount of material out there that we never had. I have been collecting up kits for about the last 5 or 6 years so I have quite an inventory to draw from and will hopefully have the time now. It looks like you have a great page and will be visiting it often. Good talking to you. Bruce.

Comments: Great job on the models. Nice to know I`m not the only grown man still building models. I`m 30 and have been building for 20 yrs. I had to build a display case to house my 70 models. My wife thinks I`m a big kid too. I don`t care, I enjoy it alot. I just built a `60 Impala, now I`ll start a `64 Mustang conv. keep up the good work!

Comments: I have built many models (all cars and trucks) through the years, but my eyesight (and lack of patience that I once had) has forced me to quit building them. My son is going to build a couple for me that I want. I just bought a '48 Chev Sedan Delivery model (made by Galaxie Models) and will build it as a replica of the real '47 sedan delivery I am building as a street rod. I would like to hear from anyone else who has similar interests. Terry DeliveryBoy@gbonline.com

Comments: Just like to say hello, I have been modeling for 24 years thanks to my father being a modeler also. I have entered a number of contests and have always done very well. I enjoy doing customs and stock versions of cars and trucks. I also have started an annual model contest through my fire dept., with this year marking our 3rd. annual contest. If you or any one else is interested in this contest please contact the Attica Fire Dept. at 11 Water St. Attica,N.Y. 14011 and I will get back to you. I would like to compliment you on your fine collection of models and this web site.

Comments: Just one more thing. One continuous project, that I attempted three times, was to replicate the 1955 Chev "backyard racer" driven by James Taylor, and Dennis Wilson in "Two Lane Blacktop". (Also by Harrison Ford in "American Grafitti"). I had the doghouse removed, the the hood glued in place and filled to simulate the fibreglass front end. I had the scoop fabricated out of pop can aliminum, I cut out the trunk lid the way the movie car was. I removed the front vent window pillar, and decided how to fashion the front/back sliding door windows. I cut the rear seat etc out of the interior bucket, and started to fashion the rear floor, and gas filler (inside the trunk). I had even cut the "Nomad" rear wheel oppenings (ok, there weren't really nomad oppenings, but were cut out to accomodate the (real car's wheels). I don't really know why I trashed the project, except I couldn't find an appropriate front suspension (I had almost fashioned one out of sprue). I couldn't figure out how to complete the firewall/floorpan. I had difficulty filling in between the existing interior bucket (rear), and the trunk area, let alone the interior sides. I attempted to massacre the interrior of an original AMT '55 Nomad kit. Whick I now regret (which r3eminds me, I want the reissue of that kit). I even had the tires selected, and the rear mags widened, and scorred the wat the real car's looked. I knew how I was going to weather the primer paint job as well. But couldn't find the appropriate "American Racing Wheels" mag wheels. I think the most impressive bodywork I had done, was to remove the front fender chrome from the kit, using a dental tool i had gotten from the dentist. This tool, if used carefully, and enuff strokes, left a very realistic charactor line/reveal on the front fenders. I've lost that tool. I still have the movie on tape, and every detail in my head as to what i was doing. So when I find the time, I think I will try again. I love that car. And just as a side note, I am also trained in automotive/body repair. painting.foreman was my strong suit. :) Coop

Comments: Came here from a link at "The Kid's" site. I love 55 Chevy's. Anyway. I usedto build model cars when i had the time (where did it all go? I'm only 25). I bought a few at the local shops, sales at department stores, and have way too many magazines. I haven't built one since the AMT 62 Bel Air came out, which seems to be some time now. I still bought the magazines for some time, and learned a lot as well, and was too, blown away at the little (really little) details some people perfect. Aftermarket items, foils (LOVE the foils) and the such are just breathtaking. I've still got about 50 kits waiting to be built, I might get back to it sometime. But until then, I've enjoyed your homepage. Coop

Comments: you've built some great models! i build alot of cars, mostly chevys. my faves are the impala. i've built 14 of them along with camaros and chevelles. i own a 64 impala and a 96 impala, so you can say i'm kind of a fanatic about impalas. i'm still developing airbrush skills on spare bodies but i enjoy detailing the engines. nobody understands where all the patience comes from to build them.i've got plenty and will probably never stop. thanks for the tour and keep up the great work. eric

He died in 1990 but I want his car. I've been trying to find some way to restore it though. That has been a bit of a problem. Anyways, I love your cars.

Comments: i absolutely love your website. i, too, recently got back into the hobby of building scale cars,(i'll be 50 this year--still a big kid myself) about a year ago. actually, i've been buying more than building so far. my favorites are the '50's & '60's customs and hot street machines. i subscribe to custom rodder and rod & custom magazines for entertainment and inspiration. i think i'll build a few curbside slammers just to get some finished models on the shelf. i'm starting a new career (due to a back injury)in computers, and i hope to someday make my own website as well. i may even learn to use the shift key. please feel free to reply if you would like. til then, keep 'em low & lookin' good.

Comments: Wow. Just browsing at the computer lab here at work/school (I teach 8th grade), and the '58 Impalas are INCREDIBLE. I also got back into models because I can't afford to restore the old '65 sitting out in the garage. I built one of those AMT '58s too, but I'm nowhere near your level. I have discovered foil, though, and it's been a big breakthrough in my work...Nice site. I'll bookmark it on my pc at home and see more there, because the kids are coming upstairs now....

Comments: Hi! This is Per Webb, editor of Custom Kemps Of Swedens magazine "Lead News". If you´re into 1/1 too you might have heard of it. Anyway it´s a pocketsized 52 paged black n´white magazine, printed 3 times a year and filled with traditional customs, "from customs to kustom kulture". Also, it features some 1/25! Have you any photos we can use? Of course, I will send you the magazine! /Per

Comments: I enjoy seeing, what appears to be, quality work. My first car was a 1958 Imapala Rag Top, and since they are now extremely rare and highly expensive if you can find one, I've been looking for a model of one, plastic or otherwise. Does anybody know where one can be found and, for what price. Canadian source is preferred due to exchange and Customs crap.

Comments: I am 27 years old, and finally got back into modeling after a 12 years. One day, I dragged out the old kits I had sittiing in the closet and finally finished them. I enjoy the oldies, especially the rods. I just finished a 70 Monte Carlo which is built to the same specs as my own personal Monte Carlo sitting in the garage. Now, I am working on a 62 Impala Convert. I would like to get into more dramatic cutomizing, However , I am still learning some of the tricks ( mostly the hard ways ) By the way great sight!!!!!

Comments: Excellent models. I'm mostly a racecar fan myself - building NASCAR (two completed, three models "in progress"presently)and sprintcars (four completed and about two others in various states of completion). Just love those Slixx decals! They give me lots of ideas. I keep improving with each model and hope to win a prize someday - just a placing will do! Anyway, keep up the good work until I look up your site again.

Comments: Hi, I think that this site is great I love building model cars, It is my favourite hobby I don't think i'll ever give it up. I got a couple of questions: 1) How do u get your paint so shiny and real looking, what kind of paint do you use and how long does it take you to a model when you get all the peices. 2) How do you putty a car with out it leaving marks, because i've tried a lot on my 66' chevy truck because i'am customizing it. To customize it i have lowered it and filled in the sides to make it look like the newer chevs. If you can answer these please email me thanks alot.

Comments: your chevy dually is fantastic, I read the history and it sparked a long buried urge in me and Im getting back into models, mostly 1/8 Roadsters and Vettes, I have degenerative joint disease and my hands wont let me work with the small ones, you gave me an idea, have you heard of the " Outhouse " the T Bucket Roadster with an outhouse for a body ?? Im gonna try to make a 1/8 scale of that one, I have 3 unbuilt 32 Roadsters and 2 Golden T's all 1/8 and I went to a Hobby Lobby and in the section for doll houses and furniture I found a good size wooden outhouse, with a little luck, patience, and determination I just might make something even you would be proud of ( no promises though ) I really enjoy your sight and visit quite. Is there an outlet where you are for 1/8 scale cars or would you know of anyone that might have any they would part with, built or unbuilt or slightly busted up for parts. Ive gabbed enough, I will be back to visit again and again and again Happy New Year!!!!! George Crossland ( stuck in the midwest ) gcrossland@enid.com

Comments: Enjoyed looking at your cars. I build them too, but not at the level you do. I mostly do muscle cars and 50's cars. I can get them to look like the one on the box, sometimes a little better. It's been a while since I built one because Iv'e been working on a 70 Chevy Impala Custom. I'm hoping to have it restored by my 24th bithday next year. Anyway, It's nice to see that someone has similar interests. I can't get any of my friends to build some model cars. I hope I didn't bore you too bad. Carlos

Comments: You signed my guestbook so I came to check out your site and sign your guestbook as well. I really like your page! You do very professional work on these models and it is obvious it is a passion with you. How did you create your message boards? They really look neat but it appears they are merely animated gifs. Do you have a program that creates them or did you do it by hand? Great looking, no matter how you did it! I'll check back in the future to see what new models you have added. Have you ever done a custom model where you take a stock model and change it to your liking?

Comments: Hi. Like your page. I have recently retired. I am trying to find some plans for racing/Sports cars. 1960/1970 All I really need is Body contours, apart from wheels I can maybe manage the rest.I do not want kits, now I am retired they are too costly. As I have other hobbies. I used to build Model aircraft and Radio Control fly them. And one or two static models. My other hobbies are woodwork and wood turning. Look forward to hearing from you. Graham.

Comments: Hi! I love your page! I have built hundreds of models! I build mostly cars pick-up, but love to model Tractor/trailer, and other heavy trucks. I love them! I can never build them stock... I always change something! My time available lately to build them is very limited! My girl friend likes to work on the "Junkers"! She has her own little way to it! She loves to step on them, and crush them! Stomping is her Hobby!!! I pick up crappie models here & there from people all over. Some times I'll build some, and I glue it all around, as tight as I can get it (around the windows/posts, interiors) and as strong as I can, and she tries to stand on them full weight with out breaking them! She CAN, most of the time - it's just another challenge for me, and it makes her feel good! The ones I do for her, are almost as good as the ones I do for show! But that’s the way I am... picky! Check out this site! It has some of my models being crushed, by her. It may take a little wile to load, but the last ones are the best! Let us know what you think! Keep up the great work! It’s nice to see the hobby growing! http://www.execorp.co.jp/lmjack/videointro/thecrushing/otherpics.html
